2019-20 FA Cup 1st Round map with current league attendances & fixture list. / + The club making its FA Cup 1st Round debut: Maldon & Tiptree FC.}
Maldon & Tiptree (est. 1946), aka the Jammers, had never qualified for the FA Cup 1st Round before the 2019-20 season. This small 8th-level club from coastal Essex then did one better, as they produced the biggest Cup-upset of the 1st round, beating 4th-division side Leyton Orient 1-2 in East London {see screenshots and photos below}.
At the time of the upset victory, Maldon & Tiptree were placed an astounding 4 leagues and 78 league-places below Leyton Orient. Now, in the 2nd Round, Maldon & Tiptree will play another 4th-division side, Newport County of South Wales. And this time it is a home match for Maldon & Tiptree, to be played at their tiny Wallace Binder Ground, on Friday evening the 29th of November. Of course it will be televised, and of course it is sold out. Up the Jammers!
