The map

The map shows the average attendance of the 24 clubs of the 2026-27 EFL Championship (England/2nd division). The clubs’ badges are arranged around the coast of Britain, in grouped boxes. They are grouped by Counties or Regions (or home-Country, as with the three Welsh sides).

The circles-with-club-badges represent each club’s home league average attendance for 2025-26 – the larger the circle, the higher the club’s attendance last season. Each circle-with-badge points to the club’s home-venue location. That home-venue location is listed on the map.

Here is the regional breakdown of the 24 clubs in the English 2nd division this season…
• 4 clubs from Greater London, plus one more club from the surrounding area of the Home Counties: Charlton Athletic, Millwall, Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United, Watford [of Hertfordshire].
• 3 clubs from Lancashire: Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Preston North End.
• 3 clubs from the West Midlands: Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
• 3 clubs from Wales: Cardiff City, and Swansea City [both of South Wales], Wrexham [of North Wales].
• 2 clubs from Yorkshire: Middlesbrough [of North Yorkshire], Sheffield United [of South Yorkshire].
• 2 clubs from Hampshire: Portsmouth, Southampton.
• 1 club from Bristol (ceremonial county): Bristol City.
• 1 club from Derbyshire [a part of the East Midlands)]: Derby County.
• 1 club from Greater Manchester: Bolton Wanderers.
• 1 club from Lincolnshire: Lincoln City.
• 1 club from Norfolk [a part of East Anglia]: Norwich City.
• 1 club from Staffordshire: Stoke City.

…

I added a new type of chart on the map page. Basically, the chart goes for brevity. It shows:
1) 2025-26 Average Attendance (clubs’ average crowd-size, from home League matches).
2) 2025-26 League finish (clubs’ placement within the 92-team Premier League/Football League pyramid, with promotion denoted in green; relegation denoted in red. (With Comparison to clubs’ 2024-25 Finish.)
3) Highest League position [in club's history]: English titles (with year of last title) / or: year of best League position.
