1. The big east seemed well represented in this years tournament. Lets hope that Uconn can hold it down in the championship :)

Answer: Yeah, I want to see the Big East do well; as a resident of western New York, I pull for Syracuse, and by extension, all the Big East teams, come tournament time. Although my favorite team is St. Bonaventure, from Olean, in far western New York; but they are still a ways from returning to the competitive form that got them to the tournament in 2000 (when they took Kentucky to double OT).

  2. I like the map. I’m really excited to watch the final four games. They should all be good matchups.

  3. I hope the BC Eagles will make some noise in this year’s tourney. I cannot wait to see them at the Games at Madison Square Garden this year!

Response: Cool. I will have a 2010 March Madness map a day or so after all the bubble teams are chosen, around March 15th.

  4.
What’s your predictions for this year’s tournament? Being in Australia, we don’t get to watch much college basketball, but since digital television, I’ve been able to watch a few games for the first time! The quality of basketball is amazing. Everyone is athletic with good vertical jumps.

Response: I don’t follow regular season college basketball well enough to have any worthwhile input on picks to win March Madness, but I’ll give it a burl…
In terms of early upsets, you should keep your eye on Northern Iowa. They can shut down other, more potent offenses, and they got this Lurch-like center named Jordan Eglseder. They have the second least points allowed per game in NCAA basketball this season (sorry, I couldn’t find the stat of who has the least points allowed) NI could really shock some higher rated team in the first round, as one of my favorite teams, Siena, has done for 2 years running. I like Siena for their full-court press style (which is exhausting, but can really screw with other, more technically able teams), and because they are from upstate New York, where I am from. So you know I am also pulling for a very solid Syracuse. I think ‘Cuse can go all the way, especially since they have an even-keeled team without any loose cannons (ie, Devendorf, who now plays in New Zealand). That said, it will probably be current #1 Kansas to win it all, but don’t forget that current #2 Kentucky did not make the tournament last year, and will really want to impress. One other dark horse to look out for is New Mexico, and perennial overachievers Gonzaga and Butler will demand attention again.
    Thanks for the comment.
