Response to Comment#7: Isaac, I have no connection with Plymouth Argyle Football Club...I just make maps of football leagues and football clubs and write about them. Here is a link to contact Plymouth Argyle FC: PAFC

Luckily, we've been playing some decent football lately and there is a complete contrast in our standings in the league. If we keep up our current form then there is a good chance we'll be for a play off spot, the who knows, maybe we'll get promoted! The Premiership and Plymouth Argyle FC doesn't sound right being used in the same sentence!

Answer: Go Argyle !

I know - it is really frustrating. I don't live in Plymouth anymore and rarely go to see a game but I follow them. If we kept our best players and played attractive football, we could easily fill the stadium. Our fans deserve more than what they are getting at the moment. Plymouth Argyle isn't the richest club in the world but there is no point in getting rid of our best players when our performance and match attendance drops as severely as it has. For me to bet on us staying up a bookie would need to come up with some really long odds. It looks to me like 2008-09 is going to be a relegation season for us.

Plymouth argyle is definitely Devon, although travel for 25 minutes from home park and you will be in Cornwall. It's about time we made some ground in the Coca-Cola Championship. If hull can get promoted to the Premiership then I don't see any reason why we can't. Having said that, I wouldn't bet on us going up this season no matter how good the odds on offer were. Last thing I heard was that we are one of the favorites to go down!
[site: http://www.comparebookies.com]
Answer: 1. Thanks for taking the time to make 3 substantial comments [2 other comments on my last Man City and Man Utd posts]. 2. Argyle obviously has cash flow problems...how else to explain selling league-leading scorer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake to Wolves last January, when the club had a shot at the playoffs. And speaking of Hull City, Argyle recently sold to Hull key PAFC player Peter Halmosi. And now their line-up is full of untested young players. It's too bad, because I really root for Plymouth, but I think the heart of the problem is the club's poor attendance (currently averaging around only 12,000 per game).
